The Augustinian Days of Carthage

“An Augustinian Charter for Perpetual Peace”

An annual international conference on Saint Augustine, held in Carthage around 13 November, the day of his birth in Thagaste in 354. It is hosted by the Tunisian Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts, Beït al-Hikma.

Two aims

• Supporting the development of the Via Augustina in Algeria and Tunisia.
• Fostering dialogue across geographical, cultural, religious and philosophical boundaries.

Each edition traditionally includes a walk through Carthage, « Sur les pas d’Augustin » (In Augustine’s footsteps).

Carried since 2019 by Dr Salah Hannachi, with different partner associations, universities and institutions each year.
