IDIBVS·NOVEMBRIS
Augustine, De beata vita I, 62026 programme
, Carthage
7th edition
“An Augustinian Charter for Perpetual Peace”
The 7th edition asks what Augustine’s thinking on peace, the “tranquillity of order” (City of God XIX.13), and on just war can bring to projects for perpetual peace, from Kant’s essay (1795) to present-day proposals. The work is to continue until 2030, the 1600th anniversary of Augustine’s death, with the aim of publishing a charter then.
Programme as of 21 October 2026, subject to change. “To be confirmed” marks a point the organisers have not yet settled.
